Superman - Man of Steel Trailer 3

I'm not a big Superman fan, never was. He is just too perfect for me, too 'Super". I had the same feeling about the movies as well, I could never get into their atmosphere. Seeing this trailer I gained some hope that this it's going to be different and I can develop a taste for a Superman movie. I was really enthusiastic about 300 as well when I saw the trailer back in the days, but the movie itself was a disappointment, and since this is a Zack Snyder movie as well I have my worries, anyways, the new trailer is awesome, so check it out!

Man Spaghetti

Man Spaghetti is an animated short by Felix Colgrave... who is an animator. I think.. because even his website is so weird, that's it hard to figure out who or what this artist is. But that's alright, because the stuff he's creating is as weird and strange.

So style and character designs are all very unique, but what makes his short films even stranger are the actions of the characters and the physical rules of the world they are living in.

Here is his latest short, called Man Spaghetti.
I don't reckon you should think about it too much, just watch it:

After that check out his website for more goodies: http://aardvarkbutter.com

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon - Update

The game's official release date is May the 1st, and I can hardly wait to ride this train. It just looks like we are teleported back into the past to fight a war for the future on VHS tapes. Here is the official trailer for the game:

The other great thing about this game is the music. It puts you exactly in the right mood. Check out Powerglove's soundcloud site for more cool 80' style music: https://soundcloud.com/powerglove

Best Opening Credits for TV Shows - Part 1.

Here is a little subjective list about TV Show opening credits. The main titles can be remembered or forgotten all together. It’s not necesssarily going to improve the show or make it a hit, but for sure it helps build up it’s reputation. There a few TV Series where they did not have to change the main titles through out the seasons, because it was already good enough. The best example for this would be the main titles of Dexter, the TV Show. The images and music works perfectly together, reflects on the whole series and give a great atmosphere.

The second memorable intro would be the one for the Game of Thrones, a great series with great story and characters. The main titles are animated, we are flying around a 3D map of the world, you can see each kingdom and city from the series, a great setup for a great TV Show.

The third and last one for today is the intro for Masters of Horror, a tv series involving a lot of legendary names in the horror genre. Some episodes are great, some are just average, but the opening titles give the perfect setup for the grimm stories we are about to see.

Fractal Worlds

Here is another demoscene related post. Last weekend was the Revision 2013 party in Saarbrücken, Germany and this animation / video came 2nd in it's category. I always enjoyed watching fractals, the infinite zooming, endless stream of details mesmerized me every time. These fractals are in 3D already and it's like having a look into another world. Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon

Far Cry 3 was for me the best fps-action-rpg title from last year with it's great storyline and atmosphere, action packed gameplay and a huge island to discover and conquer. This is something completely different based on the same engine and gameplay-style.

There isn't much information about this game other than it's crazy looks and style, there are no official gameplay videos, only this single teaser, which doesn't really show anything:

The game however has been leaked, so it's already downloadable from various torrent sites a month before it's official release. I welcome the change in style, I've always been a fan of 80' action movies and this game looks like you've just become a star of one. Here are some gameplay videos to get you in the mood:

A Million Times

This is a kinetic installation made by Stockholm based studio, Humans since 1982. The installation was on display at the Design Days Dubai, Victor Hunt Gallery this march. These minimal, black and white geometric style designs are more and more popular these days, and for a good reason.

New Meshuggah Music Video

Here is the music video from the Swedish math-metal band, Meshuggah. The album itself was released a year ago and this is the second video off it. The visual style and execution looks a lot like one of Tool's older music videos with the stop motion technique and the dark atmosphere. Make sure to watch it till the end where the climax happens.

Esther's Mechanical Admirer

This music video is a few years old already, but it still stands out with it's unique looks and robot-design. The song itself is from an 2007 dated album by Amon Tobin and the video was produced only 3 years later in 2010, so it's not your usual single + music video package. Make sure to watch it till the end, the outcome is a treat in itself.

Painted Movie

Here is a trailer of a film from 2011, The Mill and the Cross. Stars Rutger Hauer and it's directed by a polish director, Lech Majewski. What's interesting about this movie is the visual concept. Every image is based on a renaissance painting mainly by Pieter Bruegel. Now, it's not a good movie, it's boring and the CGI lacks quality in many scenes, but it's an interesting concept and I've never seen it done this way. Check out the trailer, it's really something different. Is it a good direction? I'm not sure, but now at least we know why.
