Perturbator - 16bit Music Video

It's really trendy these days to create something new with a retro feel to it, even go as far as using the limited technologies of a bygone era, limited resolution, limiter color palette. For my eyes these kind of experiments are a treat, but guess the younger generation, who never played the Sega MegaDrive or the SNES might find these odd.

Weird Video Game Tribute Video

As a big fan of retro video games it's always a treat for me to see a tribute to the 8bit or 16bit era, this is a little bit too weird though... but what do I expect from Japan anyway?

Here is a great little Hungarian music video for the photoshop fans. It's such a simple idea that it's strange it's never been done before. Congratulations to the creators!

8 Bit Cinema

24 Hour Music Video

An interesting experiment from Pharrel Williams, a 24 hour music video, and it's actually interesting - I mean I haven't watched all 24 hours, but wherever I clicked on the timeline there were nice images and quality camera work. Enjoy:

Bot & Dolly - Box

This is an amazing little short which uses a lot of post-production, projection mapping, tracked camera movement and a lot creativity and style. I would go as far as to say that this is the most inventive way to use projection mapping yet, so enjoy, let yourself be amazed:

Looper Music Videos

Here is a new music video from Dizzee Rascal for the track I Don't Need a Reason. The whole video is compiled from shorter or longer loops composed together in a nice fashion. You can't really see where one loop ends and another starts. Here is the video:

This video actually reminded of an old Chemical Brothers video: Star Guitar. The video is also compiled of loops creating an endless audio-reactive video experience, very different way but the outcome is even more impressive:

Finally here is another video from a decade ago, Kylie Minogue, Come Into My World, a really nice looper video, again using the technique in a very different but effective way:

Interesting Music Videos

Here is a new music video from Morcheeba, which is a quite unusual one. It doesn't try to overwhelm you with it's cool animation or monumental story, it's just a plain and simple animated video with nice colors and esthetic typography, check it out:

The other video for today is an interactive visual experience for Ellie Goulding's track: Lights. The animation is computed real time on the monitor, you can even control it a bit with your mouse.

Fractal Worlds

Here is another demoscene related post. Last weekend was the Revision 2013 party in Saarbrücken, Germany and this animation / video came 2nd in it's category. I always enjoyed watching fractals, the infinite zooming, endless stream of details mesmerized me every time. These fractals are in 3D already and it's like having a look into another world.
