Super Tropic Tramp
Really cool minimal music video from Koji Aramaki, check it out, it feels more like a demoscene demo than a real video.

Function 2013 - Demoscene meeting
Here is the winner in the democompo from Fairlight, a norwegian demoscene and cracker group, hands down, it's a very cool little demo.
And for the first time I post something that I produced together with Nagz and Senderkatch for the wild demo compo, and it took the 1st place, so we are really happy. On the scene I'm known under the alias Immortal Rat, and this is our long forgotten demo groups first release since 2000 or so, here it goes: Touch Me by Greenroom.

C64 Scene - Still Alive and Well
I didn't own a Commodore 64 when I was young, I've started my "digital career" on an IBM PS/2 back in around 1994. The C64 and Amiga machines always had that obscure but very personal vibe for me. Lately I bought my first Commodore because I always found it fascinating to work with limited options and resources. To create an image or an animation on it is like doing brain surgery with your hands tied behind your back. Sure it's doable, but you have to have a lot of creativity and patience. You think the C64 scene is dead? Think again, there are thousands of people still coding and working on Commodores, Amigas, ZX Spectrums - mostly in the demoscene though. Here are some examples, get ready to have your mind blown:
Here are some fresh examples from 2013:
The next one is maybe the most iconic PC Demo ever made, Second Reality from Future Crew, here is the original and below it the C64 conversion.

Dust - Trailer
Here is the trailer for an upcoming new movie called Dust. It's an independent production funded through Kickstarter. A hungarian demoscener colleague of mine from the old days. Szabolcs Menyhei, aka Inferno was also part of the team working on visual effects. Check it out:

TPOLM demos
Tpolm was always one of my favorite Demoscene group. Most of their demos and intros were very stylish and industrial looking. I remember back in the day, when I was an active demoscener I used to watch these several times a day, inspiring myself, charging my creative battery. Other strong aspect of these productions were the music, which was always fitting and helping you to get in the right mindset. Enjoy these "oldies", they bring back some great memories for me.

Fractal Worlds
Here is another demoscene related post. Last weekend was the Revision 2013 party in Saarbrücken, Germany and this animation / video came 2nd in it's category. I always enjoyed watching fractals, the infinite zooming, endless stream of details mesmerized me every time. These fractals are in 3D already and it's like having a look into another world. ASD Demos
Another demoscene related post, this are two demos from ASD, Andromeda Software Development. These guys have been around since 1993 making demos, intros, but their success came around 2005, when they started to release state of the art demos wining almost every party's democompo where they had a submission.
This one is called Lifeforce, from 2007:
This one is called Spin and it's from 2011:

Real-Time Animation Sorcery
This is a
demoscene product, a demo. It’s not pre-rendered, retouched, it’s a real 3D
engine producing the animation on your computer in real-time. Sometimes I see
effects or animations made in a way I can’t really explain or understand, using
combinations of effects, shaders, filter or modifiers etc. But with this it’s
even more impressive, because all the things you can see had to be programmed
into an engine, so it can distort and modify the geometry accordingly and
build up these breathtaking shots.
Still by Square, enjoy:
