A Million Ways to Die in the West - Trailer

Here is the trailer for the new Seth MacFarlane vehicle and though it looks a bit forced at moments, it still feels like it's going to be great fun. When I heard about his previous film Ted for the first time I was worried that after Family Guy how can you successfully switch to live action features, but he did a great job, the movie was really entertaining and it even had some Family Guy moments. A Million Ways to Die in the West:

The Zero Theorem - Trailer

Terry Gilliam is one of the most interesting and visually unique filmmakers out there who gave us such classics as Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Tide Land or The Fisher King among many. It's been five years since he completed his last feature and now he's back on track with his unmistakable visuals, weird characters and spectacular special effects. The Zero Theorem:

True Detective Opening Scene

Last year I've started to post interesting opening credits from tv shows but to be honest there aren't that many really good ones out there so it's always a pleasure to see a new tv series with a great opening. True Detective premiered on a few days ago on HBO and though the show itself is pretty good it's opening is a masterpiece, beautiful colors, great compositions, simple yet effecting, check it out:

Isometric Animated Short

Here is a little animated short from Mirai Mizue. Back in the days when they first tried to introduce 3D to the games the popular solution was the isometric method. It's 3D in a way but really it isn't because it doesn't have perspective. I really enjoyed games with this style so I have soft spot for these kind of animations. Modern. Enjoy:

Stalingrad VFX Reel

Unfortunately the movie itself wasn't really good, a plot full of holes with weak and stereotypical characters, I expected a lot more - but that doesn't take away from the real strength of the movie: the visuals. Here is a very cool VFX reel for the movie, Stalingrad can be missed, but if you're into CG you should check this video out:

Kung Fury - Trailer

Here is a trailer for a really crazy looking movie: Kung Fury. It's a crowd funded project on Kickstarter and it already has more than double the goal amount was, so quite possibly it will be produced and we can see it on the silver screen soon enough. It looks pretty awesome, I just hope it won't be too much to handle.

Cuphead

Cuphead is a game developed by StudioMDHR. What's interesting about it is the visual style, it looks like a cartoon from 1930's, very well designed and carefully put together. It's a very short teaser but special enough to get my attention, hope to see more from this game soon:

Aningaaq - The Gravity spin-off short film

If you've seen Gravity you probably liked it, it's one of those generally appreciated movies that the critics and the audience both liked - one of the best films of 2013. Here is a short little film where you can see what happened when Sandra Bullock got to talk to somebody from orbit in Gravity.

The short is directed by Jonas Cuarón, Alfonso's son, enjoy:
