Life After Pi

Rythm & Hues Studios is one of the classic VFX studios in Hollywood, they worked on countless productions bringing fantastic locations and characters to life, creating extraordinary illusions. They got an oscar award for their work on Life of Pi but soon after the company went bankrupt. It's a really sad story and they are not the only ones. Support the VFX industry, don't let these fantastic teams go to waste. Here is a short documentary with the story:

Stalingrad VFX Reel

Unfortunately the movie itself wasn't really good, a plot full of holes with weak and stereotypical characters, I expected a lot more - but that doesn't take away from the real strength of the movie: the visuals. Here is a very cool VFX reel for the movie, Stalingrad can be missed, but if you're into CG you should check this video out:

My name is Demeter, I’m 31, I live in Hungary and I’m a graphic artist/director. I have my own company, I’ve made music videos, short films, documentaries and a countless number of animations. In this blog I try to collect all the things that I find on the internet and inspires me. As a creator I know that it’s difficult to look outside the box, we tend to come up with the same solution to similar problems. It’s like a breath of fresh air to see something you would have never done, because you never thought it can be approached this way too. This is not by any means an objective collection, it’s just stuff I like, stuff i find Visually Interesting.
