Circuit Scribe
Well this is not exactly visually interesting, but interesting nonetheless. When I was little I was fascinated with Doc Emmett Brown (Back to the Future) kind of mad scientist characters and I was playing a lot with circuits, taking every electrical machine apart and finding out how it worked. This is way the whole thing becomes a lot simpler and you won't have to worry about your kids burning their hands on the soldering iron.

Sabotage - Trailer
Here is the trailer of the new Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle directed by David Ayer, who also brought us End of Watch. The trailer looks very cool, Arnie is bad ass and the new haircut really fits him I guess, check it out:

Grow Your Own POD
David Cronenberg always had been one of my favorite filmmakers but now it's not a movie he is releasing but an interactive website where through a series of simulations you get to create your own POD, a creature which is connected to you. I know it sounds weird but if you have some time on your hand try it out, it can be a deep and disturbing experience... or maybe I just clicked the wrong answers? See it for yourself, this is the best interactive site I have seen so far:
The Employment - Animated Short
This animated short by Santiago 'Bou' Grasso got more than a hundred awards on film festivals all around the world. The technique doesn't offer anything new or revolutionary, what sells it is the idea. It's sad, it's deep, it's moving. And it's true. Check it out:
Check out the director's website as well, it's a treat to surf on:

Poorly Drawn Lines
Poorlydrawnlines.com is the perfect place to go if you want to escape from your job or choirs for a few minutes, turn off the outside world and a laugh a bit. Enjoy.

New Trailers - November 2013
Here are some trailers for upcoming eye-candy movies, let's hope looks is not the only thing they have:
First one is the trailer of the new Angelina Jolie movie. She hasn't been very active lately apart from flopping as a director, so after the long wait Jolie fans can go out to the cinemas again. It's a Disney movie but for that it's quite dark I have to say, maybe it's going to be something interesting after all.
The next one is the trailer for Noah, the new Darren Aronofsky film. I've always liked his movies but this movie seems more like a Roland Emmerich vehicle to me. Let's hope it won't be that bad.
Finally something different: Homefront was supposed to be made decades ago with Sylvester Stallone as the star. He also wrote the script and very much wanted to shoot the film himself but years went by and he got too old to do it himself. Now here is the movie with Statham and Franco and it looks pretty badass, I'm looking forward to it, check it out: (red band trailer, you have to log in to youtube!)

Super Tropic Tramp
Really cool minimal music video from Koji Aramaki, check it out, it feels more like a demoscene demo than a real video.

Elegant Gentleman's Guide to Knife Fighting
Elegant Gentleman's Guide to Knife Fighting is a sketch comedy show from Australia and here is a collection of the intermission animations from the show. I'm sure they must have been a big fan of the Monty Python's Flying Circus because these animations look like they've been made by Terry Gilliam and in a good way. Very funny stuff, check it out:
Robocop - New Trailer
Here is the new trailer for the upcoming Robocop reboot. It looks nice and shiny with a lot of action and robots fighting, but for sure it's going to be a very different Robocop.

Live Action Game Trailers
There are more and more live action trailers shot with well known actors for games. Many years ago there were games like Mad Dog, Phantasmagoria or Wing Commander games which were like an interactive movie but there was a reason for that, the studios were trying to do better and better graphics and animation and one way to do it was to shoot the whole game as a movie.
Slowly with the evolution of games it went out of style but now it's coming back in a different form and for a different reason, check out these live action trailers made to promote games:
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Sleeping Dogs

The Lego Movie - Feature Trailer
Some months ago I've posted the teaser for The Lego Movie, that time it seemed it won't be any good but after seeing the full trailer I'm more positive. The stop-motion looks great, now we can get a sense of the story and see that it might even have a message, so I'm looking forward to this. I've played a lot of lego when I was young, building huge spaceships and all kinds of vehicles and imagined a lot of stories around the bricks and I enjoyed the hell out of it, still, it's hard for me to see how can you make an enjoyable feature movie from this. Let's just hope they really thought it over.
